Applicants must be 10-18 years old, engaged in education, training or employment and able to demonstrate a need for assistance.
The application process
Applications to the Grow a Star Youth Scholarship Program are accepted all year round. The scholarships aim to ensure that young people have the opportunity to reach their potential in education, sport, or the arts.
What do the scholarships cover?
Education
- Elective school fees
- Protective clothing (PPE) for elective subjects
- Stationery items
- Specialist program fees
- School uniforms
Sport
- Registration fees
- Uniforms and/or sporting equipment
Arts/Music
- Tuition fees
- Equipment or instruments
What the scholarships do NOT cover
- Medical costs
- Accommodation
- Travel costs
- General school fees
Who is eligible?
Any young person who:
- is aged between 10 and 18 years of age,
- can demonstrate why they are seeking assistance,
- can demonstrate how the scholarship will benefit them,
- is engaged in education, training, or employment; and
- has a genuine sporting, artistic, musical or educational opportunity.

What happens with my application?
You will receive an email or text message confirming receipt of your application. Please make yourself available to speak with the Grow a Star Program Coordinator in the event they have any questions regarding your application.
The Grow a Star Program Coordinator will contact all successful applicants with information about their scholarship, including the amount of funding received, program reporting requirements and terms and conditions. In addition, we will be asking successful applicants to sign a media release document to assist in supporting the program with photos and information for media releases.
Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email or text message.

What happens with my application?
A Home in Place team member will contact all successful applicants with information about their scholarship, including the amount of funding received, program reporting requirements and terms and conditions.
