Creating significant, positive change is high on our list at Grow a Star.  Empowering young people has far-reaching, long term positive effects, not only for the individual, but also for the community at large.

We are all about collaboration and partnering with community minded organisations and individuals for the greater good of our young stars.

There are many ways you can help us to support vulnerable young people who are living in poverty, extreme housing stress or those at risk of homelessness to reach for the sky to achieve their goals and dreams and ultimately to realise their potential. 

 We all know that there are benefits for being a socially responsible organisation and we can certainly help you tick some of the boxes when it comes to your CSR strategy.

Whether it’s investing in our tailored Ignite Young Stars Program, financially supporting and/or participating in one of our events or it might be that you’d like to partner with us on community projects.

We run a number of events each year, to raise awareness and funds for the Grow a Star program and we can’t do this without financial support.

We are always on the lookout for partnership opportunities to bring community projects to life. Sometimes we are able to make these happen through grants, and other times funding is sourced through collaboration with businesses, non-government organisations and other charities.

Some recent examples have included:

• A new partnership with CatholicCare Refugee Hub and provided tutoring and resources to refugee students, as a result of funding received by the City of Newcastle during the Covid outbreak in 2020 to assist students who had fallen behind in home schooling. 

• Thanks to in-kind support from the City of Newcastle’s Digital Library and Beyond Bank in 2021, we provided free digital workshops to young people interested in pursuing a career in the creative industries.
