With the help of a Grow a Star scholarship, Brooklyn has been able to continue her training and is working hard towards her big goal - reaching the highest level in cheerleading and one day becoming a coach herself.

“We are training very hard and getting our routines down,” Brooklyn said.

Brooklyn’s mum, Ashlei, is her biggest supporter.

“I could say so many things about Brooklyn, but the moment that stands out most is watching her step onto that floor in the USA. I could hardly breathe,” she said.

“When they called her team for gold, I just broke tears of pride and disbelief all at once. Watching your child’s dream come true in front of you is what we all dream for. She earned that medal and so many more to come,” she said.

“The Grow a Star scholarship helped her keep chasing that dream, it kept her in the gym training hard and being able to focus on the goal without the financial stress, it made the proudest moment of my life possible,” she said.

Brooklyn's hard work is already paying off. At a recent competition in the USA, Brooklyn earned first place, taking home gold, and receiving the highest score in the entire competition.

Georgie, Home in Place’s Mid Coast NSW representative for Grow a Star, could not be prouder.

“Brooklyn recently performed in the top 20 out of 80 competing countries,” she said.

“I’m so proud of her, she’s putting so much work into her cheer and really deserves to stay at the top,” she said.

With her determination and the support of her family and Grow a Star, Brooklyn is well on her way to reaching her dreams.
