Apply now for a 5-day, hands-on learning experience in a live festival environment under the mentorship of the team at Dashville!
The Young Gums Scholarships, offered by Grow a Star, provide a five-day immersive learning experience in a live festival setting, under the guidance of the expert team at Dashville.
Scholarship recipients will take part in hands-on workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and practical training during The Gum Ball festival, gaining invaluable insight into festival production, performance, and the broader music and events industry. They’ll have the opportunity to connect with musicians, artists, technicians, and event managers, learning directly from seasoned professionals.
Throughout the program, participants will work closely with a Musical Director, rehearsing daily in preparation for a group performance on the festival’s main stage on the final day.
With The Gum Ball running from Friday to Sunday, evenings will be free to enjoy the festival’s exciting performances with family.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the music industry.
The scholarship is open to young people who:
✔ Are between 10 and 18 years old
✔ Can demonstrate why they need this opportunity
✔ Can explain how the scholarship will benefit them
✔ Are currently engaged in education, training, or employment
✔ Have a genuine passion for music
A parent or guardian is required to stay for the entire duration of the Young Gums Camp (five days and four nights) to supervise the scholarship recipient while they’re not attending workshops/rehearsals/sessions.
Costs associated with camping and festival entry will be covered by Grow a Star.
The Young Gums Camp will take place from Wednesday 23 April to Sunday 27 April, 2025, at Dashville in Lower Belford, Hunter Valley, NSW (Wonnarua country).
The Gum Ball festival will span three nights from 25-27 April, with a special prelude warm-up concert on Thursday 24 April 2025.
The Young Gums group performance will be held on the main stage during last day of the festival.
